Britania Homes is a property company recently launched in Bahrain

It’s always exciting to discover a new business. Partly this must be because confidence, dynamism and energy – all necessary for any new initiative – are appealing. In terms of property, it’s good to see a new company like Britania Homes doing well because it’s a bellwether of the industry.

Britania Homes was founded last May by Aziz Ali. Aziz has previous experience of working both in sales and in the property sector in Bahrain. Born in Egypt, he has also lived and worked in Dubai for six years. His favourite building is, in fact, in Dubai – the Burj Al Khalifa – and he says that he admires the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; but it’s in Bahrain, nonetheless, that he has settled and founded his own company.

“To start one’s own business, Bahrain is the greatest place. Bahrain is different from other countries in the Middle East – there is freedom here to create your own business and a lot of support as well. People here are warm and welcoming, and I like everything about the place, it’s not complicated to live here,” he says.

He is enjoying the process of working for himself, even if it demands long hours and feels pressurised. “I start early in the morning and I finish late at night, but I always had a vision to manage my own small business. Other people work in different ways – it’s great to be working for myself.”

Britania Homes sells and leases properties all over the country, in Amwaj, Seef, Durrat Al Bahrain, Riffa, Janabiya and Saar. Aziz says he is planning to expand his team. “In ten years, I would like the company to be one of the best real-estate companies in Bahrain.” With this sort of confidence, dynamism and energy, his company is one to watch.
